Sound Recording from Mars

NASA’s Perseverance Rover has recorded sounds on Mars. This includes wind gusts, rover wheels crunching over gravel, motors whirring as Perseverance moves its arm, and the Ingenuity helicopter.

According to a news report on Sci-News, NASA’s Perseverance Rover has made the first ever sound recording by a Rover on Mars using dedicated microphones. It is said that the Martian Sounds have a strong Bass effect. According to the report, some of those recordings are teaching scientists about changes in the planet’s atmosphere. The microphones on the Rover also allow for research on how sound propagates on Mars.
