Vegetable Burger

Thanks to the Covid-19 and Lock Down period, many would have had a chance to try their own cookery skills. Here I am presenting you the tasty Veg Burger made at home. It is very easy and cost-effective to make the Veg Burger at home. Burger Patty is made at home while Burger Bun is bought from the grocery store.  Try the recipe below.

Ingredients for Patties – 4 Servings

  • Red Kidney Beans – 2 Cans, rinsed and drained
  • Onion – 1 No., minced
  • Garlic Cloves – 3 Nos, minced
  • Carrots – 2 Nos, shredded
  • Quick Oats – 2 Cups
  • Soy Sauce – 1 Tb Spoon
  • Olive Oil – 1 Tb Spoon
  • Cumin – 1 Tea Spoon
  • Coriander  – 1/2 Tea Spoon
  • Chili Powder – 1/2 Tea Spoon
  • Cayenne Pepper – 1/4 Tea Spoon
  • Salt – To Taste

Other Items for the Burger:

  • Burger Bun – 4 Nos.
  • Tomato – 8 Pieces, sliced horizontally
  • Lettuce Leaves – 4 Pieces to the size of the bun
  • Sandwich Cheese – 4 Pieces (if required)

Preparation:

Heat one table spoon of olive oil in a pan. Combine onions, garlic, salt, and pepper and cook until onions are caramelized. Add carrots, cumin, coriander, chili powder, and cayenne pepper until carrots are tender. Remove pan from heat.

In a bowl, mash the red kidney beans and then add the contents of the pan along with the soy sauce and quick oats. Mix and form four patties. Place in freezer for 30 minutes to set.

Cook patties on a pan, coated in cooking spray over medium heat, flipping halfway. Once the patties are ready, cut the Burger Buns into two halves horizontally. Arrange Patty, Tomato Slice, Lettuce Leaf and Cheese in between the sliced bun. Arrange it in a serving tray.
